The Minnesota District Tier I playoffs for berths in the 2021 USA Hockey National Championships in March will kick off this weekend at the Plymouth Ice Center in Plymouth, Minn. Semifinal games for the Girls 14U, Youth 14U and Youth 15 classifications will be held on Saturday, October 10 with championship games taking place on Sunday, October 11.
The champions at the Girls 14U level will move on to the National Tournament in West Chester, Penn., March 25 – 29, 2021. The champions at the Youth 14U and Youth 15 Only level will advance to the National Tournament in San Jose, Calif., March 24 – 29, 2021. The Minnesota District semifinal games will kick off Saturday at 12:00 p.m.

Girls 14U – The Girls 14U semifinals will include the defending Minnesota District champion and 2020 League Playoff champion Lakers (District 6) as the number one seed with a 16-3-1 record. They will take on the Loons (District 2) in the first semifinal. The other semifinal match-up will feature the Green Giants (District 10) against the Walleye (District 3), two teams who have tied each other three times this season. The Lakers/Loons game kicks off at 12:00 p.m. on Rink C. The Green Giants/Walleye will start at 12:15 p.m. on Rink A.
Youth 14U – The Youth 14U semifinals will feature the top three teams in the CCM Minnesota Hockey High Performance Tier I Fall League Playoffs as well as Shattuck-St. Mary’s Prep School. The league playoff champion Green Giants (District 10), who finished with a 13-4 record will face off against the Walleye (District 3), who posted an 11-5-2 mark. The Polars (District 5), who are making their first appearance in Minnesota District playoffs after a runner-up finish in league playoffs, will draw the defending Minnesota District champions, Shattuck-St. Mary’s, in the first game. The Green Giants/Walleye match-up starts at 2:00 p.m. on Rink C. The Lakers/Shattuck opens at 2:15 p.m. on Rink A.
Youth 15 – The Youth 15 Only semifinals will also include three teams from the Tier I Fall League and Shattuck-St. Mary’s. The defending Minnesota District champion and 2020 League Playoff champion Blue Ox (Districts 11, 12, 15 & 16) earned the top seed, posting a 15-1-2 record. They will face the Green Giants (District 10) in the opener. The Walleye (District 3) will meet Shattuck-St. Mary’s in the other semifinal. The Blue Ox/Green Giants game starts at 4:00 p.m. on Rink C. The Walleye/Shattuck game starts at 4:15 p.m. on Rink A.
Minnesota Hockey will also host Minnesota District playoffs at the Girls 16U and Girls 19U levels on October 21 at the Brooklyn Park Community Center. The Youth 16U Playoffs will take place at the Maple Grove Community Center on November 5. Shattuck-St. Mary’s will represent the Minnesota District at the Youth 18U Tier I classification.
