Youth Tier I 16U

The CCM Minnesota Hockey High Performance Tier I Leagues provide the top players from each district or section a chance to play with and against the best players in the state.  For the 2021-22 season, the Youth 16U classification is for players born in 2005.  The Leagues are conducted in accordance with USA Hockey rules and all teams are eligible for USA Hockey’s Tier I National Championships.

League Highlights:

  • Training Camp at Amsoil Arena in Duluth under the direction of college & league coaches.  Players will stay Sunday & Monday night close to rink with UMD college players as team counselors.
  • 15-20 regular season games plus playoffs.
  • Participate in NAHL Showcase Tournament.
  • Tier I status including competition against Tier I programs and an opportunity to compete for a chance to represent Minnesota at the 2022 USA Hockey Tier I National Championships!
  • No events on Labor Day or MEA weekends
  • Season concludes prior to high school season and schedule allows you to participate in other fall sports or hockey training programs including your high School captain's practices!

The 16U League will have five teams competing, with game weekends beginning in mid-August. There will be eight regular season weekends, followed by League playoffs in late October. The Minnesota District Playoff to determine the team that will represent Minnesota at the USA Hockey National Championships in April, 2022 will be held in early November.
