CCM HP Girls 15 Day 1 Recap
District 6 – 6; District 3 – 0
After a scoreless first half, District 6 scored six unanswered goal to defeat District 3 in the weekend’s opening game. Kayley Crawford (Minnetonka) scored twice and Olivia Haag (Benilde-St. Margaret’s) had one goal and two assists in the win. Molly Haag (Burnsville) and Alexandra Pellicci (Holy Family) combined for 19 saves, 7 and 12 respectively, in the shutout.
District 2 – 2; District 10 – 0
Jori Jones (St. Paul-Roseville) made 16 saves and Abigal Thompson (Mounds View) stopped eight shots for District 2 en route to a 2-0 shutout win against District 10. Mariana Ranallo (Mounds View) and Eleanor Winges (St. Paul United) each scored.
District 8 – 5; District 5 – 1
District 5’s Rachel Wieland (Sartell/Sauk Rapids) scored early in the first half for a 1-0 lead, but District 8 responded with five goals to claim victory. Brynn Swenson (Eastview) tied the game 1-1 before the end of the first half and four different scorers for District 8 followed suit in the second half. Shauna Miller (Park Cottage Grove) and Ava Nygaard (Rosemount) each had one goal and one assist.
District 15 – 2; District 11/12 – 5
A three-goal second half secured a win for District 11/12. With 48 seconds remaining in the first half, Tenley Stewart (Cloquet) gave District 11/12 a 2-1 lead heading into the second. Alyssa Watkins (Proctor/Hermantown) scored twice and assisted on the team’s fifth goal by Jillian Tabaka (Tartan).
District 4/9 – 3; District 16 – 1
Three third-period goals was all District 4/9 needed to defeate District 16 in the evening’s final game. Mya Wesling (Northfield) had two assists for District 4/9. Celine Stroot (Roseau) scored at 14:34 to help District 16 avoid the shutout.
