Section 3: 6, Section 5: 5

Section 5 jumped out to a 4-2 lead in the first half of Sunday’s 17-year-old 7th place game, but were unable to sustain their pressure as Section 3 tallied 4 goals in the second half to steal the win.  Diverse scoring helped Section 3 capture the win with all 6 goals coming from different individuals including: Blake Holmes, Luke Benson, Ray Christy, Grant Horsager, Willie Reim, and Bailey SommersAlec Johnson and Dalton Cherro each had a goal for Section 5 while Carter Wagner notched two tallies.  Brendan Westbrook added a goal with just twenty-one seconds left to make the final score 6-5.

Section 4: 5, Section 1: 0

The boys 17-year-old consolation matchup between Section 4 and Section 1 was dominated by Section 4 from the start.  They jumped out to an early lead with a goal from Samuel Hentges and two from Marko Reifenberger in the first half.  Jack Mapstone and Noah Cates added a goal apiece to finish off the scoring for Section 4.  The final score was 5-0 and shot totals were 44-15 both in favor of Section 4.

Section 8: 4, Section 2: 3

The 3rd place game set a match-up between Section 8 and Section 2.  Section 2 dominated the first half of the period and got the scoring started with a goal from Joe Molenaar.  Section 8 made a push in the second half of the period making the shots even at 14 at the end of the first.  Section 8 continued their pressure with a goal early in the 2nd period from Hunter OlsonColin Moser were strike back for Section 2 just a minute and a half later.  Jack Evans scored the next goal for Section 8 and just forty seconds later Olson would pick up his second of the game to make it 3-2 in favor of Section 8.  This would not prove to be enough as Patrick Reddan scored shortly after to make it 3-3.  The battle ensued for the rest of the period, but neither team was able to notch a goal.  Overtime saw good chances for both teams with three shots from Section 2 and two shots from Section 8.  However, neither team was able to put one in the back of the net, forcing a shootout.  Alex Pollock started off the shootout with a goal for Section 8.  That would prove to be all they needed as Matthew Fitzpatrick stopped all three Section 2 players to win the game 4-3 for Section 8.

Championship
Section 6 dominates to win 4-0

Section 6 jumped out to an early lead that Section 7 wasn’t able to recover from as 6 skated away to a 4-0 win.  A goal credited to Tyler Stevens assisted by Samuel Walker started the scoring for Section 6 at 17:46 of the first period.  Two consecutive penalties on Section 7 midway through the first gave Section 6 an opportunity to add to their lead, but were unable to do so.  Another opportunity occurred when a stretch pass sent Ben Copeland in on a breakaway, but was blocked by Cade McEwen.  Section 7 was offered the chance to tie the game up when Section 6 took two penalties just four seconds apart, providing a 5-on-3 power play for fifty-six seconds to Section 7.  Section 7 had several chances on that power play, but the goaltending of Michael Magnuson held strong to kill the power play and send Section 6 into the intermission with a 1-0 lead and 18-14 edge in shots.  Although the one goal proved to be all Section 6 needed to get the win, they added to their lead five minutes into the second period with a goal from Samuel Walker assisted by Clayton Phillips.  Then, Niko Castro caught a pass from Bram Scheerer and made it 3-0.  Another penalty on Section 6 at 11:40 gave Section 7 the chance to get back into the game, but they were unable to capitalize.  As the penalty ended and the Section 6 player stepped onto the ice, he was joined by two teammates giving them a 3-on-1.  They were not able to make the most of this opportunity as the Section 8 defenseman laid down to break up the pass and then managed to get the puck out of the zone.  A little tension was visible in the second half of the period as there were three consecutive coincidental penalties in a row.  Excitement was added when Section 7’s goalie was knocked down leaving an empty net, but Dylan Samberg made a diving effort and blocked a goal.  Section 7 applied some pressure including a breakaway that was kicked aside.  In a last ditch effort, Section 7 pulled their goalie, but Clayton Phillips reaped the rewards of an empty net when he picked up the puck in his own zone, skirted down the boards, and buried the fourth and final goal of the game.  Final score was 4-0 and total shots were 32-23 both in favor of Section 6.
