The first boys’ game of the day gave us the first overtime of the boy’s festival as it took an extra period for Section 4A/AA to top 2A/AA, 3-2. Both teams traded possession and goals but Section 4A/AA struck first when Devlin McCabe found the corner. Section 2A/AA’s Garret Runyon answered back just three minutes later but Section 4A/AA’s Maxwell Janrich would help his team end the half 2-1. With time dwindling down, Section 2A/AA’s Charlie Ankeny buried one home to push into the extra frame. But with just 20 seconds left in OT Nathan Chamberlain put an end to it for the Section 4A/AA win.

Section 6A/AA stepped on the gas and jumped to an early lead before securing the win over Section 3A/AA, 4-2. Carter Reilan got 6A/AA on the board first before Riley Enderle and Fred Macciocchi followed suit. Section 3A/AA struck back in the second half with Payton Matsui getting the geno. The goal added an extra step to 3A/AA and Nate Bordson brought the game within one. But Ben Dougherty sealed the deal for Section 6A/AA with the game’s final goal.

Section 8A/AA and Section 1A/AA duked it out to a 3-2 finish with Section 1A/AA advancing on. Cody Carlson tallied an early goal for 8A/AA but Spencer Schneider and Nikolas Wieben gave Section 1A/AA a 2-1 lead at the end of the first. John Lagerstrom added another goal for 1A/AA and Coby Stauss brought it back within one for 8A/AA, but despite best efforts it wasn’t enough.

Section 5A/AA and Section 7A/AA were the nightcap for the day, but they kept tired fans awake with a close 2-1 score, Section 7A/AA with the win. Connor Bizal got 7A/AA on the board first with a goal just over the goalies glove. Section 5A/AA’s Michael Crosbie would be the next to score and the teams ended the half tied at one. But Levi Stauber notched the game-winner for Section 7A/AA less than 10 minutes into the second half.
