Girls 15 Summer Camp Recap: Day 3

Red 5, White 3

Addison Cowan (Holy Family) scored two goals and assisted Sophia Carlson (Grand Rapids) in her lone goal of the game to help lead Red Team to a 5-3 win in the first matchup of this afternoon. Teammates Sophia Carlson (Grand Rapids) and Elizabeth Callahan (Mound Westonka/SWC) helped to seal the win with second half goals after both teams entered the final half tied at three.

Maysie Koch (Dodge County HS) and Alaina Gnetz (Woodbury) tallied the other points for Team White. Red Goalie Gianna Marchese (Rosemount) closed out the second half for Red, stopping all nine shots she faced in the second half.

Sky Blue 4, Green 5

Heading into the second half 1-1 after goals from Bailey Rupp (Bemidji) and Reece Ruska (Osseo), Team Sky Blue and Team Green battled in an exciting second half for a final score of 5-4 and a Green win. Bailey Rupp (Bemidji) scored in the second half and Hailey Box (Holy Family) added two goals for Sky Blue while Green’s five goals came from five different goal-scorers. 

Reece Ruska (Osseo) had a hand in three of five Green goals, including an assist to teammate Allison Ryan (Minnetonka) to help Green take the lead after the 14th minute in the second half. Tessa Boden (Champlin Park/Coon Rapids), Jaylie French (Warroad) and Elliana Engelhardt (Hill Murrary) all added goals for the Green team in the second half.

Royal 2, Gold 0

After a scoreless first half, Maddy Kimbrel (Orono) scored an unassisted goal in the early in the second half to put Royal on the board. Ella Nonweiler (Minnetonka), assisted by teammate Senna Hofmann (Lakeville), scored a final and unanswered goal in the 2-0 win over Gold.

Despite Gold Team out shooting the Royal Team 28 to 15, Royal goaltenders Tyler Jabs (Minnetonka) and Makenna Underwood (Farmington) secured the shutout in today’s final matchup. Grace Kemp (Cretin Derham Hall) stopped all six of the shots that she faced in the first half for Gold
