Section 2A/AA finished off an impressive run through the weekend by knocking off Section 8A/AA via 5-1 final Sunday evening at PIC, and wrapping up first place for the Spring Festival.
Ashton Schultz (Minnetonka) scored twice, and linemate Gavin Uhlenkamp added a pair of assists as the Grey shirts top line continued to inflict heavy damage. Section 2 finished with 21 goals in three games, with a tournament-best +17 goal differential.
Uhlenkamp and Louis Wehmann (Providence Academy) each finished the weekend with four goals and eight points apiece, and linemate Schultz finished with two goals and seven points. Together, the three poured in 25 points over the three victories.
Goaltenders Hunter Bauer (Minnetonka) and Kam Hendrickson (Chanhassen) proved formidable as well, each posting a 1.33 goals-against-average ad a .945 save percentage. They stopped 74 of 78 shots they faced.

B16: Henri Ament (Shattuck-St. Mary’s) scored the game-winner with 40 seconds left to clinch the festival championship for Section 1.
Knotted at 1-1 at the half, the teams again traded the lead in the second half before Ament’s game winner. Grayson Hanggi (Shattuck-St. Mary’s) and Dawson Dejardins (Rochester Mayo) combined for 29 saves in the victory for Section 1, who ran through the three day tournament by averaging five goals per game with a +11 goal differential.
The Orange squad’s top three of Gavin Katz (Shattuck-St. Mary’s), Gavin Kor (SSM) and Will Kortan (Lakeville South) combined for nine goals and 17 points for the weekend.
Nolan O’Connell and Alex White scored for Section 6A/AA.

Charles Stenehjem (Moorhead) and Gavin Greniuk (Elk River) combined for 40 saves to help lead Section 8A/AA to a third place finish with a 4-2 victory over Section 4A/AA Sunday afternoon at PIC.
The Red team from Section 4 pounded out 40 shots and held a significant advantage in zone time, but quality scoring chances were scooped up and squashed by the White goaltenders.
Jack Stanius (White Bear Lake) got the scoing started less than four minutes in to give Section 4 Red an early lead. However, about half a minute later, Isaac Baumgartner (Roseau) answered with a goal to level it for Section 8. A short time later, Blake Couet (STMA) added another as the White team took a lead into the break despite being outshot 24-6 in the first 24 minutes.
Jonas Kohn (Stillwater) scored 20 seconds into the second to even things up again, but White scored twice down the stretch to seal it. Mason Kraft (Moorhead) netted the game winner with 6:27 to play, and Broden Hontvet (Warroad) knocked home an empty netter in the final minute.
B17: Jacob Mattson (Wayzata), Taylor Berg (Sioux Falls Power AAA) and Cameron Krischner (BSM) all scored as Section 6A/AA shutout Section 3A/AA for a 3-0 win Sunday at PIC. Luke Marsalek (Holy Angels) and Josh Middleton (St. Louis Park) combine for 24 saves in victory as the Sky Blue squad wrapped up third place and posted a 2-1 record for the weekend.

Section 4A/AA Red won a wild one, 8-5, over Section 1AA Orange Sunday morning at PIC to take seventh place.
Seven different players score for Section 4 and 12 players made their mark on the scoresheet as Section 4 finished the weekend with win. Max Egan (Mahtomedi) led the way with three points, and Eugene Wegleitner (Mahtomedi) scored twice for Red.
Five different goal scorers stepped up for Section 1. Brett Ludvigsen (Kasson) led the way with a goal and two assists.
A big third period proved decisive for the Grey shirts from Section 2A/AA en route to capturing the consolation final Sunday morning at PIC.
Section 2A/AA defeated section 3A/AA Green with a 3-1 final.
Peyton Chase (Chaska), Tristan Wassengo (Chaska) and Trey Cook (Minnetonka) all scored for Section 2, all in the third period.
Section 3’s goal was scored by Peter DeGroot (Rosemount) midway through the first half.
Final shots favored Section 2, 20-19.

Daniel Peck (Totino-Grace) scored a hat trick, capped off with the overtime winner, and Parker Deschene (Rogers) added two goals as Section 5A/AA Royal Blue slipped past 7A/AA Gold via 7-6 final Sunday morning at Plymouth Ice Center.
Deschene's goals came in the third period as the Blue shirts fought back from a two-goal deficit.
For 7A/AA Bradford Skytta (Hermantown) scored twice. Shots were 41-33, Blue.
Section 7A/AA was outshot heavily, but made the most of its opportunities with a second half charge to knock off Section 5A/AA for a 3-2 victory Saturday afternoon at PIC.
William Wagner (Coon Rapids) allowed two goals but made 23 saves in the first half to keep the Gold team in the game until the scoring touch came alive in the second.
Trailing by a pair, Section 7 got going with a pair of goals 20 seconds apart early in the second. Drew Nelson (Hermantown) opened up the scoring a little more than five minutes into the half, and River Freeman (Hermantown) netted the equalizer a very short time later.
With 3:43 left, Cayden Alphin (Coon Rapids) scored the game winner for Section 7.
Section 5 got its scoring from Brandon Swanson (Rogers) ad John Hirschfeld (St. Cloud Cathedral).
Final shots favored Section 5, 33-19.
