Day 1 Recap
Day 1 of the Boys HP 14 started off with District 16 beating District 4. In Game 2, District 8 scored four goals to beat District 10 4-2. Game 3 was another high-scoring affair, as District 6 scored six goals and defeated District 5 by a score of 6-1. Game 4 saw the same score as Game 3, with District 9 beating District 4. District 11 would fall to District 8 in their first matchup. Game 6 was another high-scoring game, with District 5 potting seven goals versus District 16 to win 7-3. In the nightcap, it was a defensive battle with District 6 winning 3-2 over District 10.
The top scorers for Day 1 were Hudson Cariveau (East Grand Forks) with 6 goals and 1 assist and Bennett Knutson (Apple Valley) with 2 goals and 3 assists. The teams will be back in action tomorrow for Day 2, with the first puck drop at 9 a.m.
Day 2 Recap
Day 2 of the Boys HP 14 had a little bit of everything. In game one, District 9 defeated District 5 3-2. Game two saw District 11 win 3-2 over District 4. Game three between District 8 and District 15 went in favor of District 8, as they won 8-5. In game four, District 3 rode a four-goal first half to defeat District 16 by a score of 6-3. Game five had a natural hat trick, and District 10 defeated District 12. In game six, District 2 had a 5-3 win over District 6. In the last game of the day, there had a goalie assist, and District 15 took down District 9 by 1 with a final score of 6-5.
The top scorers of the day include two players from District 10 and one player from District 15. Landon Medin (Rogers) had 6 goals in their game today, including a natural hat trick to start the game. Carson Scott (Champlin Park) had 4 assists for District 10 in their win as well. District 15’s Jaxson Lopez (Breckenridge-Wahpeton) had 3 goals and 2 assists on the day.
Day 3 Recap:
The third and final day started off with a high scoring affair, with District 2 winning 7-2 over District 3. In the next game, District 15 came out and beat District 12 9-2. The third game saw District 2 defeat District 11 by a score of 5-3. In the last game of the weekend, District 3 won 9-4 over District 12.
The top scorers for today were from District 2 and District 15. District 2’s Marcus Matyas (White Bear Lake) had 5 goals and 2 assists in 2 games played today. From District 15, Evan Wanner (Moorhead) had 4 goals and Tyler Potter (Northern Lakes) had 1 goal and 4 assists.
