Instructors to Include Maddie Rooney, Kelly Pannek & Sidney Morin

St. Paul, MN – April 20, 2021 – Minnesota Hockey today announced it will host the third Gold Rush Girls Hockey Camp, featuring instruction from 2018 Gold Medal-winning Olympians. Instructors for the camp will include goaltender Maddie Rooney and forwards Kelly Pannek and Sidney Morin. The four-day camp will be held August 2 – August 5 at the Burnsville Ice Arena in Burnsville, Minn.

The camp will provide players with four hours of on-ice skill instruction over a four-day span. There will be sessions for 8U players from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM and for 10U players from 10:15 to 11:15 AM. In addition to on-ice instruction, the camp will also include daily off-ice athletic activities to promote the importance of multi-sport athletes, and an opportunity for photographs and an autograph and question and answer session with the Olympians.

The camp will be limited to 44 participants at the 8U camp, and 44 participants at the 10U camp. All spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Cost for the camp is $250 for 10U players and will be $80 for 8U players. Registration is open and can be found here.

“I am so excited to once again be a part of Minnesota Hockey’s Girls Gold Rush Camp,” said Rooney, a former Andover High School standout and the winning goaltender for the United States in the 2018 Olympics. “I know I speak for the other camp counselors when I say we were so sad to miss this camp last year. But I also know that will make this year even more special. I can’t wait to get to work with the young girls who are the future of hockey in Minnesota.”

With assistance from the gold medalists, the on-ice sessions and dryland training will be led by Minnesota Hockey’s Brooke White and her certified Minnesota Development Model coaches.

The schedule for the camp is as follows. All times and activities are subject to change:
