Youth Prospects 16U

Minnesota Hockey is proud to announce the addition of four Youth 16U Prospects teams to the Fall CCM High Performance Programs. The 16U Prospects teams will be for 2008 & 2009 (non-Bantam eligible) birth year players.

We are excited to begin this offering this fall and expand our existing partnership with the North American Hockey League. 16U Prospects are scheduled to participate in the 21st annual NAHL Showcase at the Super Rink in Blaine on September 25th–28th. Youth 16U Prospects will also have the opportunity to compete against teams from North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The Prospects League will conclude with the Minnesota District Playoffs on October 26th–27th at Richfield Ice Arena. We are excited to announce that the U16 Prospects Playoff Champion will represent Youth 16U Tier II for Minnesota at Nationals on April 2nd–6th, 2025, in Wayne, New Jersey.

Eligible players include all 2008 players that tried out for the MN 16 Tier 1 program, 2009 players that tried out for their local district 15-Only programs, and 2008 and 2009 (non-Bantam eligible) players that played at a B1, A or AA bantam program last season. 2008 and 2009 players who participated in the Tier I tryouts will be invited to participate in the coaches evaluations on July 16th–18th at Doug Woog Arena in South St. Paul. Following the evaluations, four teams will be formed, split evenly.

Minnesota Hockey is excited for this program and would like to welcome Program Director Austyn Kryzer. Minnesota Hockey is dedicated to developing the best players by participating in premier programs. The Youth 16U Prospects will be a highly competitive league. Minnesota teams are scheduled to play a 20-game regular season against teams at the NAHL Showcase, including players from Minnesota, Team South Dakota, Team North Dakota and Team Wisconsin. Teams will also have the opportunity to participate in eight skill sessions on Tuesdays or Wednesdays prior to weekend games. The season will conclude with a four-team playoff at Richfield Ice Arena on October 26 & 27, where a champion will be crowned and a berth at Nationals in April (Wayne, New Jersey - Ice Vault).
