Minnesota Hockey will host Coaching Education Program (CEP) High Performance Bronze Level Goalie Coach Developer Clinics this fall. These clinics are designed to teach youth hockey coaches of all skill levels how to effectively work with and develop goalies. Look for schedule to be posted this spring.
The clinics will be run by Steve Carroll, Minnesota Hockey's Goalie Development Coordinator.
Each clinic will include classroom discussions plus on-ice sessions. Coaches will learn about and have opportunity to try various goalie-specific skating movements. They will also help develop a goalie-specific practice plan and assist with the running of an on-ice goalie development session with local goalies. Coaches should bring their skates, gloves, stick and helmet to the clinic.
USA HOCKEY CERTIFICATION:
Youth hockey coaches can move up a level in their CEP certification by attending one of these clinics. For example, a Level 1 coach can move to Level 2, a Level 2 can move to Level 3, a Level 3 can be re-certified. Attending one of these clinics will have no impact on a coach looking to earn their Level 1 or Level 4 certification. Coaches must attend entire clinic to earn certification. Pre-registration is required. Cost is $60 and includes a meal.
