As a leader in player development, Minnesota Hockey takes pride in the Minnesota Development Model (MDM). The MDM applies the principles of USA Hockey’s American Development Model (ADM) and the philosophy of Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) to Minnesota’s unique community-based structure. By enhancing players’ enjoyment and development through age-appropriate training and competition in their community, the MDM provides every player the opportunity to reach his or her potential.
In addition to assisting our associations with best practices for player development, Minnesota Hockey offers a number of development opportunities directly to players. Minnesota Hockey utilizes its extensive network of professional coaches and experience to provide world class skill development sessions in the areas of body contact and checking, defensive skills, skating, goaltending and more.
