The Rec League regular season is well under way. We trust that you’re having a great time with practices and games! Here are a few important announcements:

Skater Sub List
This year, we’ll continue to implement our Skater Sub List. This is a great opportunity for skaters to get some added ice time while helping another team that needs skaters!

Here's how it works:

  1. Go to the Skater Sub List.
  2. Coaches will complete Columns A, B, C, and D with a separate row for each skater needed (i.e. if a team need 3 players for a game, coaches will complete Columns A-D in 3 rows).
  3. Skaters search the listed games in Column A and sign up by completing Columns E and F. See below for age level guidelines.
  4. Skaters must contact the coach listed in Column C/D to complete the process.

Guidelines for Skater Subs:

  • Skaters may only sign up in the age level that they're playing this year or one age level higher (i.e. 14U skaters can sign up for 14U or 16U games but not 12U or 18U)
  • Sub skaters must have a 2019 helmet sticker and are expected to demonstrate proper behavior as outlined in the Code of Conduct.
  • This list is for skaters only. Goalie subs are handled using the Goalie Sub List.

If you have any questions about the Skater Sub List, please contact us HERE.

Save the Date: Rec League Festival
Please mark your calendar for our Rec League Festival, which will take place on March 16-17 at Bloomington Ice Garden. The Festival includes competitive game matchups (each team will play on one date, but not both), special giveaways & free pizza for players and their families. More details will be posted when the date is closer.

Locker Room Protocol ~ Reminder!
As indicated previously, all Rec League locker rooms are co-ed. The locker rooms are to be used for putting on hockey equipment. While in the locker room, all players must wear a layer of outer clothing at all times (e.g., jock shorts, leggings/tights, t-shirt). If players must change their outer layer of clothing, they must do so in the restroom. Also, cell phone use is not allowed in any Rec League locker room. We encourage all players to leave their cell phones at home or securely in their vehicle. One screened adult will be in the locker room with players at all times and is expected to enforce these policies.

If you have any questions, please contact us at recleague@minnesotahockey.org. See you at the rink!
