On Saturday, November 10, nearly 50 communities in Minnesota participated in USA Hockey’s nationwide Try Hockey For Free Day, presented by SportsEngine. The event provided children the opportunity to try hockey at no cost.
USA Hockey launched its Try Hockey For Free Days in 2009 in an effort to increase awareness of the sport nationwide and provide families with an annual opportunity to try the game. Over 166,000 children have been introduced to hockey through these events including more than 11,000 new players in Minnesota.
