Rec League Hockey Registration is Open!

Autumn is nearly upon us, which means that another season for the Minnesota Hockey Recreational Youth Hockey League, presented by Hiway Federal Credit Union, is rapidly approaching. The Rec League Board of Directors eagerly invites you to join the league for the 2018-19 season!

Registration for the upcoming season is currently open. To register, please follow these two steps:

1) Register with USA Hockey (CLICK HERE for USA Hockey Registration)

2) Register for the Rec League (CLICK HERE for Rec League Registration)

Last year, we successfully implemented some changes and plan to continue with those changes this year.

This year, we will again offer a 10U division, in addition to the 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U divisions. The 10U division is offered to better segregate the wide range of size and skill in the 12U division between the younger players (9-10 year olds) and the older players (11-12 year olds).  Like last year, if there are not enough players registered in the 10U division, those players will be added to 12U rosters. For official age charts and eligibility, CLICK HERE. Players will still have the option to move up.

The Rec League will continue to form teams according to geographical area, friend requests, and coach requests. Team formation will seek to minimize travel and cost for families. For players who register by November 1, we will do our best to honor friend/coach requests, while late registrants (after November 1) will be placed on teams according to a space-available basis.

In order to improve formation and communication of league rosters and schedules, the Rec League strongly encourages players to register by the November 1 deadline. There will be a $50 late fee assessed for all registrations submitted after November 1.

As in past years, teams at each age level will receive the same amount of ice time, with no ice sessions scheduled on Wednesday nights or before noon on Sunday. Skills clinics will start in early December, and the regular season will run from early January to mid-March. The year-end festival will be on March 16 and 17 at ‪Bloomington Ice Garden, with each team playing on one of the two days (but not both days).

Below are the fees for the 2018-19 season:
    •    Skaters - $350 ($50 USA Hockey Fee & $300 Rec League Fee)
    •    LATE Skater Fee - $400 (after Nov 1)
    •    Goalies - $200 ($50 USA Hockey Fee & $150 Rec League Fee)
    •    LATE Goalie Fee - $250 (after Nov 1)

If you have any questions about the Rec League, feel free to contact us at
