Week 1 | Youth 15 Tier I League

The CCM High Performance Youth 15 Tier I League kicked off the 2018-19 season in Burnsville this weekend.  The first game of year, on Friday night, finished with a Lakers win over the Loons 5-3, with Stillwater’s Aiden Anderson logging two of the Loons goals.  Moose took on the Polars next, taking the game 4-1 with an empty net goal in the last 32 seconds.  Green Giants won over the Walleye 7-2 in the last game of the night. 

Saturday started bright and early with a 5-2 win for the Walleye over the Lakers.  Minneapolis’ Francis Lindgren scored two of the 5 goals for the Walleye.  Green Giants ended their game with a 7-1 lead over the Loons with two goals by Andover’s Garrett Schifsky.  Third game of the day ended with the Blue Ox taking home the win 6-1 over the Polars.  Evening games kicked off with a 6-0 win for the Green Giants over the Polars.  That game was followed by a 5-1 win for the Moose over the Loons.  Hat trick for the game went to Faribault’s Maxwell Morehead.  Last game of the night was a 6-2 win for the Blue Ox over the Lakers. 

In the only game on Sunday for the Youth 15’s, the Blue Ox defeated the Moose with a 5-2 victory.  Fergus Falls’ Michael DeBrito led the way with a hat trick for the Blue Ox, sealing an undefeated weekend for the defending league champions.   

The Green Giants also went 3-0 on the opening weekend, scoring 20 goals and allowing only three. Blaine’s Henry Bartle and Schifsky led the way for the Green Giants and finished the weekend as the top two scorers for the league. Bartle scored five goals and Schifsky tallied six assists.
