The first weekend of play for the 2018 CCM HP Girls 14U Tier I League is officially in the books after a very competitive series of games at the St. Cloud MAC Arena’s.

Pacing the standings going into week two are the Walleye (3-0) and Green Giants (3-0). The Walleye and Green Giants out scored opponents, 12-1 and 24-4, respectively.

A 13-3 final in favor of the Green Giants over the Polars in the Saturday night cap was the most dominant offensive performance of the weekend.

Sara Kaiser recorded her first hat trick in league play while Shelby Sandberg, Rilee Winters and Megan Goodreau each tallied two goals a-piece against the Polars. Lauren O’Hara also recorded four of the Green Giants’ 10 assists in the contest.

The top five point leaders in the league are all Green Giants, with Isabelle Goettl pacing the way with seven. Sara Kaiser, Rilee Winters each have six while Danielle Burgen and Lauren O’Hara have five.

Kaiser leads the league in goals (5) while Goettl and O’Hara lead in assists (4).

The undefeated Walleye are led in scoring by Christian Rice (4) and Katherine Kasica (2). However, strong goalie play was the crucial component for Walleye success in week one.  Leah Bosch was in net for each of the Walleye wins this weekend and only allowed one goal in 43 shots seen.

She holds an outstanding 0.33 GAA and a .977 save percentage in three games.

Behind the Walleye and Green Giants in the standings are the Lakers (2-1) who outscored their opponents, 9-2 on the weekend. Pacing the offensive efforts for the Lakers are Grace Sadura and Kayla Woytcke who combined for four goals in three games.
