After having been separated from the HP camps for a full day, HP 14 Program Director, Jacob Mars reflected on a successful and memorable week in St. Cloud. Read his thoughts as well as a recap of the week below.

Throughout the week at camp, players participated in high performance on-ice and off-ice training which included team building activities and classroom sessions. Classroom sessions were filled with life lessons on social media use, concussions and the college recruiting process. Of note, Head Men’s Hockey Coach at St. Cloud State University, Brett Larson spoke to the 14’s on how to grow as a student-athlete and man to achieve their dreams of playing collegiate and professional hockey.

Our players develop and grow as young men throughout the week. This is due to their dedication and determination, along with our coaches and counselors who are working with them daily.

Our hope is to see all of the players back at HP 15’s, and it is up to them to earn and keep their spot in the High Performance Programs. This is accomplished by effective training, playing multiple sports, and proper rest.

As leaders in their communities, they will need to show their teammates what it means to be a HP player.

Congratulations and good luck to all of the players, counselors and staff who were all apart of something great this past week in St. Cloud.
