Sky Blue Stays Unbeaten

Sky Blue overcame its first deficit of camp with a three goal rally in the second half to beat White 3-1 and remain unbeaten.

McKenna Freerkson scored the lone goal of the first half, putting White up 1-0 half way through the period.

Sky Blue responded in the second half with two goals in just over a minute span. Hannah Baskin evened the score at 1-1 on a rebound goal. Then, Ava Nygaard tipped a shot from the point on the next shift, giving Sky Blue a 2-1 lead. Nygaard added an empty net goal with 12 seconds remaining to seal a 3-1 win.

Royal Wins Second Straight

Royal picked up right where it left off yesterday. Just over two minutes into the game, Gabby Krause beat her defender to the outside, cut in and slid a back hand five-hole to give Royal a 1-0 lead. They would hold that lead through the first half.

Another back hand, with a little under nine minutes left in the game, this time by Liberty Fettig doubled Royal's lead to 2-0.

Late in the game, it looked as if Royal would join the company of Sky Blue with the camp's second two-game shutout streak, after they won 4-0 yesterday. With their goalie pulled, Green's Halle Fields wired a slap shot through traffic and scored with just 3.8 seconds remaining to end the streak, but Royal held on for the 2-1 win.

Red Lights the Lamp

Entering Wednesday's tilt against Gold, Red had been held to just two goals in its first four games. The team found its stride today though, lighting the lamp five times.

The first half was a back and forth battle as the teams traded shots and goals. Gold twice jumped out to one goal leads, but each time Red responded with a goal of its own. The first half finished tied at 2-2 and with Gold leading with a slim 12-11 in shots.

Red took charge early in the second half though, scoring twice in the first three minutes, adding another late in the half and finishing with a 5-2 win.

Kylie Roberts, Tyra Turner and Sophie Helgeson played key roles in Red's offensive outbreak as they each chipped in a goal and assist.
