GOLD MEDAL OLYMPIAN HANNAH BRANDT VISITS CAMP

Players and staff were treated to the golden treatment during Tuesday morning's practice session when gold medalist Hannah Brandt (Vadnais Heights) stopped by for advice, photos and fun.

Brandt had formerly been a part of HP coming up and said it was a joy to come back and share her experiences, and gold medal, with those hoping to follow in her footsteps.

GOLD & SKY BLUE SKATE TO TIE

Day 4 opened with two evenly matched teams, both playing down to a 1-1 tie despite each putting more than 20 shots on net.

Sky Blue goaltender Molly Haag (Burnsville) absolutely robbed Gold's Sadie Long (Holy Family) of what could have been the game's first goal. But off the stop Mikayla Kelley (Eastview) picked up the loose puck and sent it down for Grace Kuipers (Eden Prairie) and the putaway goal.

Sky Blue entered the second half with a 1-0 lead courtesy of Kuiper's goal, but Mckenzie Rich (Benilde-St. Margaret's) buried a pass from Emily Cronkhite (Eagan) to knot things up at 1-1.

Goaltenders Isabel Varner (Buffalo) and Alexandra Pellicci (Holy Family) denied scorers for the remainder of the game to result in the tie.

THREE GOALS IN THE SECOND POWERS ROYAL PAST RED

Liberty Fetting (Lakeville South) had two goals and one assist to help give Royal the 4-0 shutout win over Red in Game 2 of the day.

Fetting went high glove side to score the lone goal of the first period. Avery Junker (Minneapolis) increased Royal's score 2-0 with a goal four minutes into the second. Fetting added her second of the day with a wraparound goal midway through the half. She assisted on the final goal to Gabby Krause (Andover) for the final.

GREEN DEFEATS WHITE, 2-0

It only took 31 seconds for Vivian Jungels (Edina) to find the net with a slick backhand and give Green an early 1-0 lead.

Back and forth hockey ensued for the remainder of the period, each team with their fair share of chances with nine shots for Green, 10 shots for White after the first ended.

Another tight second period until Jessica Boland (Northfield) gave Green the 2-0 lead and the final score.

Skylar Vetter (Lakeville North) and HaileeAnn Bailey (Alexandria) combined to stop 11 shots a piece for the shutout.
