James (Jim) Albright grew up playing hockey in Burnsville, MN. During college, he began officiating intramural games and shortly after graduating, he began working numerous youth games as a USA Hockey official.

As Albright became more experienced, he had the opportunity to officiate several Minnesota Hockey State Tournaments, including multiple championship games, and was selected two consecutive years to officiate at USA Hockey’s National Championships. Albright continues to officiate to this day, recently receiving recognition from USA Hockey for 25 continuous years of service.

In addition, Albright became more and more involved in officiating away from the rink during the 1990’s. He joined the board of the District 6 Officials Association and served several years as a board member, vice president, president and is now the acting past president. From the moment he joined the board, Albright has shown a tireless passion and commitment towards helping all officials reach their potential on and off the ice.

Albright has served in a variety of roles during his time on the board including acting as a USA Hockey officials instructor, a mentor to young officials and as an evaluator.  He has also participated on grievance committees, assisted with Bill Leslie fund events, organized officials for Minnesota Hockey Region and State Tournaments and promoted educational opportunities for officials.

Fellow officials recognize Albright as a true ambassador of amateur hockey. Thank you, Jim, for your constant passion for and dedication to the officiating community in Minnesota!
