Ten teams from Minnesota are set to compete in the 2018 USA Hockey National Championships at locations nationwide. The teams will open pool play on Thursday, April 5 with the top teams from each pool advancing to the final bracket playoff on Sunday, April 8.

Two of the participating teams will represent the Minnesota Hockey High Performance Tier I Leagues after winning Minnesota District titles this past fall. The Girls 14U Green Giants nearly ran the table this past fall compiling an 15-1 record, including playoffs, while amassing 108 goals and allowing only 14. Meanwhile, the Youth 15 Blue Ox posted a modest 8-5 record in the regular season before finding another gear in playoffs and winning five straight games to claim the League and District titles.

Shattuck-St. Mary’s, which is recognized as the only in-season Tier I program in Minnesota, will send five teams to the National Championships, including the defending Girls Tier I 19U Champions and a Girls Tier I 16U team that has won four out of the past five national titles.

Three teams will also be representing Minnesota at the Tier II level. The HP Youth 18U League Playoff Champion Moose and Green Giants, who finished second, will compete at the Youth Tier II 18U level in Green Bay, WI.  Premier Prep Red, who won the Premier Prep League Championship, will play in the Girls Tier II 19U tournament in Marlborough, MA.

USA Hockey, in conjunction with HockeyTV, will stream all the action online. Games are available live and on-demand by visiting USAHockey.HockeyTV.com, creating an account and purchasing a subscription.
