The Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association (MGHCA) will host its annual Senior Classic and U18 Festival at Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, MN starting Friday, March 2.

Now in its 20th year, the Senior Classic was designed to provide the top senior girls high school hockey players in Minnesota with an opportunity to play with and compete against the best players in the state. Teams are formed based on coach nominations, with Class A and Class AA players from each section representing their area of the state. The teams participate in a three-day festival featuring pool play games on Friday and Saturday and the championship games on Sunday.

The U18 Festival was started in 2015 to provide high school juniors, who are no longer eligible for the CCM High Performance Girls 17 program, with an opportunity compete against the top players in their age group.

Following the Senior Classic and U18 Festivals, 20 players from each age group will be selected to participate in the 2018 CCM High Performance Girls National Invitational Tournament (NIT) on April 19-22 in Vadnais Heights, MN. The Girls NIT annually features teams made of the top girls hockey players from Wisconsin, North Dakota and other states in the Midwest.
