The 2018 Olympic Winter Games are heating up in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The match up for the gold medal in Women’s Ice Hockey is set, and quarterfinals for Men's Ice Hockey begin tonight.

The U.S. men will open the Men's Quarterfinals with a match up against the Czech Republic at 9:10 pm (CST). The U.S. earned its second win of the tournament 5-1 over Slovakia in the Qualification Round. Its five goals were more than the team had scored in its first three games combined, showing the team may be starting to find its offense. They will face off against a Czech Republic team that won Group A, including a 3-2 shootout win over Canada.

The U.S. women earned it way to the gold medal game with a 5-0 win over Finland. Dani Cameranesi (Plymouth, MN) tallied two goals and an assist in the win and Maddie Rooney (Andover, MN) earned the shutout. They will take on Canada at 10:10 pm (CST) on Wednesday night.

A total of nine Minnesota natives are representing the U.S. on the ice, including two-time Olympian Gigi Marvin (Warroad, MN) and 2014 Olympian Lee Stecklein (Roseville, MN). In addition, the U.S. women’s team is led by Duluth native Robb Stauber who served as an assistant coach at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
