2018 Region & State Tournament Guide

With District Tournaments throughout Minnesota starting in about a month, tournament time is quickly approaching. Be sure to plan your team's 2018 Drive to State, powered by Chevy, using the guide below and then stay tuned to updates throughout the tournaments on Twitter (@MinnHockey), Facebook with #Drive2State and our Tournaments mobile app.

TOURNAMENT DATES

Feb. 25th – District Tournaments must be completed
March 2nd - 4th – Region Tournaments
March 16th -18th – State Tournaments

REGION TOURNAMENTS - MARCH 3-5

In Minnesota Hockey Region Tournaments, a double elimination format is used to determine which teams will play in the State Tournament for each level.  Each district receives a pre-determined number of seeds to Regions as indicated in the Minnesota Hockey Handbook.  

Please note the Region Tournaments for Peewee AA, Bantam AA and all Girls levels follow a unique format for number of seeds and first round pairings. Click on the appropriate link for your level to view more information.

Each of the Region Tournaments for Peewee and Bantam will send two teams to the State Tournament. For Girls State Tournaments, three teams will advance from each American and National Region, and two teams will advance to state from the Olympic Regions.

In state tournaments, the qualifying teams will compete in a standard championship bracket format with 3rd place and consolation games.
