Two grants have been established to assist associations with their creative efforts in continuing the growth of hockey in Minnesota

To ensure that all kids in Minnesota that want to play hockey have that opportunity, Minnesota Hockey has created a committee dedicated to assisting our member associations in attracting young people to not only try hockey but to stick with it for life.  The Minnesota Hockey Recruitment and Retention committee is comprised of representatives from each of the 13 Minnesota Hockey districts. The mission of this committee is “To develop programs for recruiting new players and retaining existing players through communication, education, and the promotion of the game of hockey.”    These representatives will bring all information to each of their associations and to help them in planning and running successful programs.  Successfully run programs and events are shared with all of Minnesota Hockey’s associations.

The committee has been hard at work and has developed the Pass the Puck grant program that will help subsidize the cost of running a special event or program to recruit players.  We also have developed an award program to encourage associations that have run successful recruiting programs to share the details of the program with Minnesota Hockey.  Information and applications can be found at www.minnesotahockey.org under Recruitment and Retention.

The Recruitment and Retention committee has processed application received as of August 22, 2010.  Minnesota Hockey congratulates the following organizations for being selected as the recipient of a grant.
