With so many talented hockey players from Minnesota playing beyond high school, it can be hard to keep up with all of them. For that reason, Minnesota Hockey is proud to bring you this weekly recap of Minnesota players that are honored by the top junior, collegiate and professional leagues so that you can keep an eye on all of your former teammates, rivals and alumni.
CCM Defenseman of the Week
Vince Pedrie - Apple Valley, MN
D, Bloomington Thunder
The defenseman recorded five points (2g, 3a) in helping the Thunder win all three games during the holiday week. He dished out an assist and then scored the game-winning goal with just over three minutes to play in regulation of Wednesday’s 4-3 victory against the Chicago Steel. The 20-year-old had an assist in Friday’s 3-2 win against Team USA before closing out the week with a goal, the 50th point of his USHL career, plus an assist on the game-winning goal in Saturday’s 3-2 victory over Chicago. Pedrie currently leads the expansion Thunder in scoring with 14 points (4g, 10a) in 21 games this season. The Minnesota native was part of the Indiana Ice team that captured the Clark Cup last spring. He will begin his collegiate career next season at Quinnipiac University.
