Minnesota Hockey Partners with Select Heartland Chevy Dealers

Chevy will be the presenting partner of Minnesota Hockey Region and State Tournaments

St. Paul, MN – December 17, 2013 – Minnesota Hockey today announced a premier partnership with Select Heartland Chevy Dealers of Minnesota, one of the largest supporters of youth athletics in the state. With “The Drive for State powered by Chevy,” Select Heartland Chevy Dealers will be the presenting partners of the signature events in Minnesota youth hockey: the Region and State Tournaments. Additionally, several youth hockey clinics will be held over the course of the year to provide more hockey players the opportunity to further work on skills at no cost to their families.

“We are very excited to further our role in the hockey culture in Minnesota,” said Daniel J. Raduenz, President of the Select Heartland Chevy Dealers of Minnesota. “Chevy has always strived to support youth athletics to keep our kids active and healthy while learning great life lessons. Hockey is the native sport here in Minnesota and we’re thrilled to be a part of it, especially the most special time in hockey – state tournament time.”

Highlights of the partnership include:

  • The Drive to State powered by Chevy – Chevy will be the first-ever presenting partner of Minnesota Hockey’s Region and State Tournaments. Hosted in 11 locations throughout the state the weekend of March 14 – 16, 14 state tournaments will determine champions at the Youth, Girls and Junior Gold levels. The state tournament participants will come out of the Region tournaments, which will also be held across the state the weekend of February 28 – March 2.
  • Chevy Youth Hockey Clinics –Select Heartland Chevy Dealers will host a number of youth hockey clinics during the season using USA Hockey certified coaches to run an American Development Model (ADM) station based practice. The clinics will be hosted in locations throughout the state and are made up of hockey players invited through partnering associations with Minnesota dealers.
  • Hard Ice Divider Program – Select Heartland Chevy Dealers will be a supporting partner of the Minnesota Hockey Hard Ice Divider program. With the support of Chevy and Rink Systems of Albert Lea, Minn., Minnesota Hockey is able to offer a $2,500 subsidy to Minnesota Hockey associations to provide cross-ice boards which enhance  cross-ice hockey games.
