Minnesota Hockey released today the A/AA classification list for the 2013-14 season. The A/AA classification system for Minnesota Hockey Region and State Tournaments was established as the official format for the Peewee and Bantam levels this summer.
Since the approval of the A/AA tournament format, each association has had the opportunity to request a change in their level of play for the upcoming season. Associations were originally classified in the 2012-13 season according to their level of play at the high school level. For the 2013-14 season, each association is classified according to their level last season unless a change of level request is received.
One new change for this season is that associations have also had the option of classifying their Peewee and Bantam teams at different levels. This rule was implemented to allow associations to better place their teams according to their numbers and talent, which can occasionally fluctuate significantly by level.
The current A/AA classification list is posted below. Teams still have until November 25th to officially submit a change of level request.
