The Reebok Minnesota Hockey High Performance 14/15 Program is ready to kick off its inaugural year with district tryouts. Designed for players born in 1999-2000, the program will provide players with the opportunity to train and compete against the best players of similar age.

The HP 14/15 program begins with tryouts at district sites, starting as soon as this Thursday. Tryouts are open to players that competed in the Peewee A/AA and Bantam A/AA levels during the 2012-13 season, but players must contact their District GM to apply prior to tryouts.  Individuals can visit the HP 14/15 Program page for more information on tryout times and locations.

Those selected for district teams will train within their district for three weeks in the month of September with an emphasis on skill development and fitness. Then, all of the district teams will participate in the HP 14/15 Fall Festival at Edina’s Braemar Arena the weekend of September 27 – 29, 2013.

“The HP 14/15 program will continue our tradition of providing hockey players in Minnesota with the opportunity to develop with and against the best players in the state,” said High Performance Director Mike MacMillan. “Not to mention, it will provide these players with a great way to prepare for future HP programs, and make an early impression on coaches and scouts.”

While the HP 14/15 program doesn’t have a national component like those for the older age groups, the program continues to function as a component of the Minnesota Hockey and USA Hockey Player Development Process.  It will be staffed by high school, college, youth and USA coaches.
