Program Overview:

The Minnesota Sled Hockey Association newest program, the Minnesota Wild Sled Vets, is an organization dedicated to providing accessible ice-hockey opportunities for any individual unable to play stand-up hockey due to a challenge to their physical mobility. Through sled hockey, the MSHA offers a community of inclusion, understanding, physical exercise, and social connections.  This program is expanding to include a program dedicated to veterans of military service.

Position Summary:

We are seeking to build a network of local volunteer coaches to support the operations and development of these veterans.  This is an ideal opportunity for aspiring coaches looking to gain hands-on experience in a rewarding environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

Organize and lead on-ice practices and skill development sessions with consideration for different physical abilities

Support off-ice workouts and preparations

Communicate practice schedules to players

Schedule:

Practices are held at varying locations, 1-2 times per month

Coaching development seminars presented by USA Hockey and Minnesota Hockey

Professional connections with national-level para-hockey personnel and players

Support disabled veterans through athletics and community building
