OVERVIEW:
Minnesota Hockey (MNH), an affiliate of USA Hockey, is the governing body of youth and amateur hockey and the premier developer of hockey players in the state. MNH provides volunteer services for the development and growth of hockey in Minnesota. Its community-based structure of (13) Districts and (130) plus local Associations administers MNH rules and regulations, create teams, run tournaments, develop players and grows the game across MN.
SUMMARY:
The Bookkeeper & Office Support Specialist works closely with the Executive Director and Treasurer to manage financial transactions and record keeping and assist in general office administrative tasks. This role administers timely accounts receivables and payables, maintains accurate and thorough financial records and ensures smooth operation of all fiscal processes.
OVERALL KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bookkeeping (85%)
- Maintain and manage financial records using QuickBooks.
- Process accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
- Prepare financial reports, including monthly statements.
- Track and categorize expenses following nonprofit accounting standards.
- Assist with annual audits and tax preparation by providing accurate, necessary documentation
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with tax and labor regulations.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all 501(c)(3) financial reporting requirements
Office Support (15%)
- Assist with general office tasks as assigned by Executive Director
- Maintain organizational files and records in a digital format
- Support event coordination and logistics as needed
- Manage office supply orders and vendor relationships
- Provide administrative assistance to staff and Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Two to five (2 – 5) years of bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in Quickbooks
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Workspace
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational ability
- Ability to multitask and work independently or as an integral part of a team
- Strong integrity when handling confidential / sensitive financial data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of nonprofit organization financial management
- Ideal candidate has knowledge of Minnesota Hockey and its community-based model either through experience with, a connection to and/or familiarity with the organization

- Anticipated Salary Range commensurate with experience ($55,000 - $60,000)
