Summary

This week's Drill of the Week comes from Jacob LeVasseur, who coaches in Mounds View's high school program as well as in the District 2 Fall Tier I program and the District 2 Spring High Performance program.

DESCRIPTION

  • X1 passes the puck across the ice to X3 for pass 1.
  • X3 catches and skates forward, passing it back to X1, who skates across the ice after passing it. X2 follows when X3 starts skating and will catch the quick pass from X1 when they get the puck back from X3.
  • X2 then skates up the ice and gives the fourth pass. That skater then passes it along the board for the fifth pass, who will pass it across the ice for the sixth pass.
  • X1 and X2 continue looping around, and X3 skates up to the red line and then starts skating backward to maintain a gap with X1 and X2.
  • X2 will receive the seventh pass as they loop around close to where they started and will then play a 2 on 1 with X2.
  • Drill can then be run from the other side.

KEY POINTS

  • Passing
  • Warmup
