Boys 15 Summer Camp Recap: Day 6

Sky Blue 6, Red 2

In the first game of the day, the Sky Blue team jumped to a quick two-goal lead with goals from Rennick Hendrickson (Minnetonka) and Matthew Johnson (Osseo-Maple Grove), but Red quickly responded on a Joseph Hemr (Centennial) goal before Rennick Hendrickson (Minnetonka) got his second of the day less than a minute later to restore Sky Blue's two-goal lead. Sammy Nelson (Osseo-Maple Grove) scored soon after for Sky Blue to make it 4-1, a score that would hold for the rest of the half.

A quick goal to start the second half from Red's Samuel Horstman (Alexandria) brought the game back within two, but Sky Blue would do the rest of the scoring in the game. Sammy Nelson (Osseo-Maple Grove) added his second goal of the day to go with his two assists for a four-point day, while Casey Vandertop (Edina) would also score along with an assist. Rennick Hendrickson (Minnetonka) would add an assist for a three-point outing.

White 7, Gold 4

In the second game of the day, the first half was low-scoring, with the only goal coming from Gold's Tanner Esterberg (St. Michael-Albertville).

The second half was a different story, with both teams trading goals at a fast pace. White started with four unanswered goals coming from Michael Berchild (Shattuck St. Mary's), Liam Grant (Mound Westonka) and two from Joseph Erickson (Blake). Luca Jarvis (Stillwater) and Jacobe Tosch (Mankato) both scored for Gold to bring the game to 4-3. White would extend their lead on three straight goals coming from Augustus Olson (St. Thomas Academy), Michael Berchild (Shattuck St. Mary's) and Joseph Erickson's (Blake) third goal of the day. Cooper Hehir (Centennial) added a late goal for Gold to make the final score 7-4 in favor of White. Wyatt Cordts (East Grand Forks) also added two assists on the day for White.

Royal 2, Green 5

In the final game of the day and of Summer Camp, Royal and Green squared off in a competitive rematch. The first half saw even play, with Green jumping out to a quick two-goal lead on goals from Preston Deragisch (Sartell) and Luke Puchner (Waconia). Royal responded with two goals of its own from Kyler Black (Duluth Marshall/East) and Drew Simonich (Moorhead) to tie the game up at two, which would hold for the rest of the first half.

The second half was all Green on the scoresheet. Jimmy Egan (Mahtomedi) scored twice, and Preston Deragisch (Sartell) got his second of the day to seal a 5-2 victory. Nathaniel Pederson (Shakopee) added two assists on the day for Green.
