Boys 15 Summer Camp Recap: Day 1

Royal 6, Sky Blue 3

Franklin Loo (Forest Lake) started the game off for Royal with a quick goal, followed by a goal from Nicholas Johnson (Edina) on Sky Blue to tie it up. 48 seconds later, Zac Zimmerman (Moorhead) gave Royal the lead again. Nicholas Johnson (Edina) got his second of the day in the first half to bring the game back to 2-2, but Kyler Black (Duluth Marshall/East) quickly gave Royal the lead again to end the first half with Royal up 3-2.

In the second half, Phoenix Cahill (Hill Murray), Amir Chebalco (Cretin Derham Hall) and Kyler Black (Duluth Marshall/East) all scored for Royal, with Black getting his second on the day. Devin O'Donnell (Forest Lake) also added a goal for Sky Blue to finish the game with a final score of 6-3, Royal.

Red 3, Green 11

After a back-and-forth start to the game, the first goal of the game came from Parker Trottier (Shattuck St. Mary's) five minutes into the first half to give the Red team a 1-0 lead. The Green team quickly responded with a flurry of goals, coming from Carter Ernst (Lakeville South), Brock Cheslock (Rogers), Nathaniel Pederson (Shakopee) and Jimmy Egan (Mahtomedi). Colton Bialke (Rock Ridge) got Red back on the board to bring the game to 4-2. Preston Deragisch (Sartell) added a late goal to make it 5-2 Red before the end of the period.

Three early goals from Luke Puchner (Waconia), Nathaniel Pederson (Shakopee) and Brock Cheslock (Rogers) made it 8-2 Green in the second half. Jimmy Egan (Mahtomedi) and Landon Huh (Chaska-Chanhassen) added two more goals for Green. Tyler McCracken (Shattuck St. Mary's) got Red back on the board to make it 10-3. Nathaniel Pederson (Shakopee) added a third goal for a hat trick late in the second half.

White 4, Gold 5

The first half saw the White team jump to a 2-1 lead, with goals coming from Bode McConnell (Edina) and Michael Berchild (Shattuck St. Mary's) while Quinton VeDepo (Rosemount) scored a late goal for the Gold team.

In the second half, the Gold team broke the game open with three quick goals, with one coming from Luca Jarvis (Stillwater) and two coming from Devin Jacobs (Sartell). The White team got one back with Michael Berchild's (Shattuck St. Mary's) second goal of the night before Wyatt Kuznik (Osseo-Maple Grove) game Gold extra insurance. Dakotah Bailey (Gentry Academy) brought the game back within one, but the Gold team hung on for a 5-4 win. Rily Zupfer (Hill Murray) added three assists on the night for Gold.
