Day 3 Recap: Girls 16U

Section 2 vs. Section 3

Section 3 scores a pair of quick goals in the opening minutes of the second half to secure a 3-0 over Section 2. Annalee Holzer (Rosemount), Lauren Wedward (Eagan) and Sophie Stramel (Rosemount) tally the goals.  Stramel, Regan Flohrs (CDH), and Holzer with the assists. While Avery Miller (Rosemount) and Isabelle Deutz (Marshall) share the net and the shut out.
 


Section 4 vs. Section 7

Two late goals extended a one goal lead, giving Section 7 a 4-1 over Section 4 in the Consolation game. Mackenzie Jones (Andover), Hanna Olson (Andover), Hannah Christenson (Andover) and Courtney Little (Andover) scored for S7, with assists from Mercury Bischoff (Grand Rapids/Greenway), Kendall Rykkeli (Anoka) and Amelia McQuay (Andover). 

Section 4's lone goal came midway through the second half from Kasey Senden (Hill-Murray)

Section 5 vs. Section 1

It was 33 minutes of a tight battle before Section 5 broke through and Maya Anderson (Osseo/Park Center) with the help of Macy Rasmussen (Orono) scored the lone goal of the game. Shots on goal were 29-19 favoring Section 8. Ida Huber (Dodge County) knocked down 16 saves for Section 1. 


Section 6 vs. Section 8

Steady goaltending, even pressure and a pair of second half goals from Campbell Rucinski (Benilde St. Margaret's) gave Section 6 a 2-1 win over Section 8 in the Championship game on Sunday night. Goalies Nora Hannan (Edina) and Reese McConnell (Edina) had a combined 28 saves for S6.

Payton Remick (Roseau) put Section 8 on the board first with assists from Jasmine Hovda (Roseau) and Lily Erickson (Roseau)
