Day 2 Recap: Girls 16U

Section 6 vs. Section 5

Section 6 came out firing and took a 4-2 lead into the break. Unrelenting pressure and a pair of goals from Section 5 brought on our first OT of the weekend. 13 rounds of a shoot out before Malika Chebacio (Blake) finds the back of the net to give Section 6 a 5-4 win.

Lorelai Nelson (Edina), Sophia Hess (Rocoroi/River Lakes), Kendall Hassler (Benilde St. Margaret's) and Toriana Anderson (Edina) score goals for Section 6 in regulation. 

Section 5's Margaret Wallander (Breck) with two goals.  Kayleigh Olson (Delano) and Teagan Kulenkamp (Centennial) with a goal each.


Section 1 vs. Section 8

Section 8 (white) came out firing but was held to a single first-half goal by goalie Ida Huber (Dodge County) despite outshooting Section 1, 17-3 before the break. Section 1's lone goal came off a power player to derail the shutout, at the midpoint of the second half.

Payton Remick (Roseau) and Blake Schultz (EGF) each netted a pair of goals in the 4-1 win.  Josie Grossman (Lakeville South) scored the unassisted goal for Section 1.

Section 2 vs. Section 4

Section 4 jumps out to a quick 2-0 lead on goals by Regan Berglund (Hill-Murray) and Alida Ahern (S. St. Paul). Section 2's Erika Mindt (Chanhassen) answers a minute later, closing the gap to 1. 

Sophie Martin (Roseville/Mahtomedi), Greta Culshaw-Klein (North/Tartan), and Addison Andre (East Ridge) extend Section 4's lead with a trio of goals to open up the second half and secure a 5-1 win. Shots favor Section 4, 35-12.
 


Section 3 vs. Section 7

 Five separate goal scorers propelled Section 7 to a 5-1 win over Section 3 to wrap up Saturday's game schedule, with 8 players registering points in the contest.  Shots on goal were 37-6 in favor of Section 7. 

Pyper Andrews (Andover), Amelia McQuay (Andover), Chloe King (Cambridge-Isanti), Avery Kasick (Andover) and Mackenzie Jones (Andover) scored for Section 7.
