Close to 100 of Minnesota’s top youth hockey coaches were attended the practice

Close to 100 of Minnesota’s top youth hockey coaches were guests of Minnesota Hockey at a Minnesota Wild practice on Tuesday, November 22nd.  The coaches were all nominated as recipients of the 3M Excellence In Coaching Award during the 2010-11 season.  The coaches were able to see Wild Head Coach Mike Yeo and his staff put the Wild through a challenging 75 minute practice.  Following the practice all of the coaches were treated to lunch at Tom Reid’s  Hockey City Pub.

“Seeing the best hockey players in the world at practice truly reveals their amazing talent”, said Dave Margenau, President of Minnesota Hockey.  "Even more impressive is the speed, high tempo and how hard they work honing their skills; skating, passing and shooting "

“It was fun to see the Wild players in a non-game setting work so hard to get better”, said Chris Fuller with the City of Lakes Hockey Association.  “I appreciate that the Wild and Minnesota Hockey allowed us the chance to see it in-person.”

Do you know someone that should be considered for the 3M Excellence in Coaching award? If so, please nominate him/her at  http://minnesotahockeyhep.com/3m-excellence-in-coaching-award/  All coaches that are nominated to be recognized as part of the 2011-12 3M Excellence in Coaching Award program will be invited to a Wild practice next season.
