Summary

Joe Stremcha, New Ulm High School Girls' Assistant Coach, District 4 Hockey Director Coordinator and CCM High Performance Coach, shares a drill that works on quick passing in tight spaces to create scoring opportunities.

DESCRIPTION

  • Two nets are set on the goaline at the bottom of the circles.
  • One player from each team will be at the top of their offensive circle. They must stay within a 2 stick length bubble.
  • Two X's compete against two O's. The coach will dump the puck in.
  • When moving the puck into the respective team's offensive side, you have to pass to your high-support player.
  • Run the drill for 45 seconds, then rotate in the next players.

KEY POINTS

  • Creating passing lanes and scoring opportunities.
  • Defensive positioning.
  • Being active with the sticks.
