Smiles, laughing and healthy competition marked Day 2 of camp. Players have taken the "When you're having fun, you're playing well." mantra from yesterday's welcome speech to heart.  And competitive games on the ice was the reward for all of the fun and hard work during the morning practice sessions.

Teams Gold and Green held a friendly cheer competition before hitting the ice for their second half action, with Team Gold taking the bragging rights and the win.   But Team Dino (Green) came to dinner ready to take back those bragging rights and succeeded with a few healthy roars during introductions of the coaching staff.

After dinner MHOA presented information to the players on being a hockey official and encouraged the girls to consider taking on that role during the off season and hopefully continue to officiate once their playing days are behind them.

White 3 Royal Blue 2

White storms back from a two goal deficit with three unanswered goals by  Ella Perrault (Chisago Lakes), Senja Leeper (Minnetonka) and Sophia Hess (River Lakes) in the span of five minutes and hang on for a 3-2 win over Royal Blue.

Courtney Little (Andover) gave Royal Blue a 1-0 first half lead, taking advantage of a 3 on 1 rush to the net and Josie Grossman (Lakeville South) scored unassisted coming out of intermission.

Gold 3 Green 1

A couple of goals in the opening minutes of the game and it looked like we were headed for an exciting offensive battle, but neither team would score for the next 40 minutes.  Zoe Heimer (Dodge County) broke things open for Gold scoring the game winning goal  with under five minutes left to play.  Maya Engler (Andover) added an empty net goal to secure the win.

Team Green outshot Team Gold 30-19 but could only find the back of the net once in the game on a goal by Mackenzie Jones (Andover).  Madelyn Wostrel (Champlin Park) and Taylor Thompson (Forest Lake) had 14 and 15 saves respectively.

Red 3 Sky Blue 3

The final afternoon matchup started slow with only 13 first half shots on goal registered by both teams and a single goal by Keira Limpert (Woodbury)  to give Red a 1-0 lead.

Kate Johnson (Warroad)  would add to that lead for Team Red before Lauren Barnacle (Rogers) and Kendall Rykkeli (Anoka) scored 45 seconds apart to tie things up.  Mercury Bischoff (Grand Rapids-Greenway) scored a minute and a half later to give Sky Blue their first and only lead of the game.  Gianna Neist (Prior Lake) evened things back up to finish the final game of the afternoon all tied up.
