Boys 15: Day 3 Recap

District 2 (grey) vs. District 16 (yellow)

All goals were scored in the first half and District 2 came out on top over District 16 6-1. Final shots on goal were 29-13 in favor of D2 but each team had 7 in the second half. D2’s Colton Horak (Chisago Lakes) finished with 2 goals and 1 assist, and Gavin Katz (Shattuck St. Mary’s) added 2 assists. Taevon Welle (Bemidji) got the only goal for D16.

District 8 (orange) vs. District 15 (maroon)

There was a goal in the final minute of both halves as District 8 and District 15 played to a 1-1 tie. D8’s Landon Cottingham (Hill-Murray) and D15’s Carver Hasbargen (Moorhead) were the goal scorers. Shots on goal favored D8 31-21 but D15 ended the game with several scoring chances of their own.

District 9 (dark blue) vs. District 12 (blue)

District 9 scored 5 goals in the second half to beat District 12 8-0. D9 players Zachary Knott (Owatonna) and Cooper Siegert (Northfield) collected 3 points and the goalie duo of Dawson Desjardins and Anton Ackley (both Rochester) made a combined 16 saves in the shutout victory.

District 3 (white) vs. District 11 (light blue)

District 3 continued scoring a ton of goals, beating District 11 by a score of 11-0. D3 players Lewis Majkozak, Rio Treharne, Tre Peck, Jacob Kvaskicka, Poul Anderson, and Brady Northrup all tallied 3 points. Goalies Logan Nowlin and Eli Charney (both St. Louis Park) combined for a 17-save shutout.

District 6 (red) vs. District 10 (green)

District 6 trailed 3-1 at halftime but battled back by scoring 4 goals in the second half and beat District 10 5-3. Michael Mikan (West St. Paul) chipped in with a goal and an assist while Holden Pajor (Minnetonka) was credited with the game-winning goal. D6’s goalies Owen Lunnenborg (Bloomington Jefferson) and Cody Niesen (West St. Paul) made a combined 16 saves.

District 4 (black) vs. District 5 (purple)

District 5’s second half comeback effort fell short as they lost to District 4 5-4. The final shots on goal favored D4 31-22 and Owen Renslow (Marshall) scored the game-winner. D4’s Mason Moe (Eden Prairie) finished with 3 goals and 1 assist.
