Boys 15: Day 1 Recap

District 8 (orange) vs. District 6 (red/black)

District 6 scored 4 goals in both halves to push past District 8 by a score of 8-3. It was a balanced attack by D6, who had 7 different players score. Holden Pajor (Minnetonka) tallied twice while Carson Moe (Chaska Chanhassen) collected 3 assists. Cullen Ingebritson (Hill-Murray) scored 2 goals for District 8.

District 10 (green) vs. District 15 (maroon)

District 15 made it a close game with 2 late goals in the second half but District 10 held on for a 4-3 win full of scoring chances for both teams. Theodore Wackman (Spring Lake Park) helped D10 with a goal and an assist and goaltender Brady Krey (Rogers) was unbeaten in the first half with 14 saves.

District 2 (grey) vs. District 3 (white)

District 3 edged out District 2 by a score of 4-3 in what was a fast and physical game. D3 players Daniel Peck (Totino-Grace), Jacob Kvasnicka (Wayzata), and Lewis Majkozak (Armstrong Cooper) all finished with a goal and an assist.

District 11 (light blue) vs. District 16 (yellow)

D16 forward Briggs Knott (Bemidji) was an offensive force in this game, earning a goal and 3 assists in the first half to lead his team to a 6-3 win over D11. Connor Maruska (Crookston) had a goal and 2 assists as well for D16 while D11’s Bradford Skytta (Hermantown) assisted on 2 of his team’s goals.

District 9 (dark blue) vs. District 4 (black/yellow)

Both teams played each other close and got solid play from their goalies to end up with a 2-2 tie after two halves. Mason Moe (Eden Prairie) and Josh Toll (Rosemount) scored for D4 while D9’s goals came from Zachary Knott (Owatonna) and Luke Lebens (Mankato East). The final shot count favored District 9 29-27.

District 5 (purple/yellow) vs. District 12 (blue)

The District 12 goaltending duo was excellent, with Carter Casey (Grand Rapids) and Timothy Urdahl (Hibbing) combining to make 36 saves and shutout District 5 by a score of 5-0. D12’s Hunter Ruuhela (Greenway) and Tate Swanson (Hibbing) both collected a goal and an assist while Ethan Sundvall (Hibbing) earned 2 assists in the win.
