Girls 16/17: Day 2 Recap, Final 54

Girls 17: Blue 3 vs. White 1

Ava Guillemette (Prior Lake) scores first, giving White an early 1-0 lead and their only goal of the game.  Ava Lindsay (Minnetonka) and  Bella Shipley (Maple Grove) score a pair of goals for Team Blue, one minute apart, to take a one 2-1 lead into the break despite falling behind in the shot count 24-12.

Blue came out of break firing fast and out shoot White 8-1 in the opening two and a half minutes. White has a run of its own but can’t find the back of the net. Blair and Strom with 16 second half saves each in the second half. Lauren Ballinger (Mounds View) nets Blue’s third goal

Girls 17: White 4 vs. Red 3

Raegan Wurm (Buffalo) put Team Red on the board first four minutes in, 15 seconds later we were back to a tie game on a goal by Madison Kadrlik (Farmington) for Team White.   Kate Johnson (Warroad) gives Team White their first lead of the game five minutes later with an assist by Grace Sadura (Minnetonka), but finish the half back to square one, when Lauren O'Hara (Centennial) ties it back up at two.  Red out shoots White 17-9 going into intermission.

Red continued to out pace and out shoot White in the second half 20-9 but was stymied by Lily Timmons (Stillwater) with 19 saves.  Myah Krueger (Stillwater) breaks the tie and Abby Vetsch (Owatonna) nets another for a two goal lead that lasted only a minute and twelve seconds before Grace Erickson (Maple Grove) closes the gap back to one.

Girls 16: Red 3 vs. White 1

The first afternoon game started with a fast paced and even matchup between Team Red and Team White.  Shots were even at 11 in the first half and a lone goal by Isabelle Stephes ()Northfield) from Lauren Mack (Minnetonka) gave Red the one goal edge.  

The second half proved to be another fast paced 24 minutes of hockey. A scoreless 29 minutes passed before Zoe Lopez (Orono) from Bailey Gray (Benilde-St. Margaret's) put White on the board and tied it at one.  Morgan LaValley (Proctor Hermantown) scored the game winner for Red at the three minute mark, assisted by Ayla Puppe (Northfield) and Lauren Mack (Minnetonka) added the empty netter with 13 seconds remaining to give Red the 3-1 win.

Girls 16/17: White 16's - 7 vs. Blue 17's - 6

White 16's come back out for game two and continue their fast, fun hockey, this time against Blue 17's.  Ava Lindsay (Minnetonka) gets the the scoring started for Blue, 42 seconds in.  But White didn't let that last long, 46 seconds later Emerson Garlie (Northfield) scored the first of three unanswered goals, to give White a 3-1 lead.  Blue answers with a pair of their own to tie the game at 3 and they exchange another pair of goals to make it 4-4 at the break.

Heavy scoring continues in the second half with the lead changing 5 times through out the game. Kendra Distad (Minnetonka) with a hat trick  and Ilsa Lindaman (Duluth Marshall) tallied two assists, with 7 other players adding points in the game for Team White. Shelby Sandberg (Blaine) and McKenzie Keller (Mankato East) net two goals each for Team Blue

Girls 16/17: Red 17's - 5 vs. Blue 16's - 4

Red 17's roll to a 5-1 lead over Blue 16's in the first half.  A pair of goals by Hannah Halverson (Edina) and 3 assists from Syndey Putrah (Shattuck St. Mary's) lead Team Blue's scoring.  Layla Hemp (Minnetonka) tallies 15 saves for the 16's. 

Blue 16's come out strong in the second half and climb back from a four goal deficit, scoring 3 unanswered goals.  Samantha Pool (Forest Lake),  Ruby Rauk (Minnetonka) and Josie St. Martin (Maple Grove) with the tallies.  Elie Hancock (Maple Grove) was perfect in the second half with 14 saves.

Girls 16/17: White 17's - 4 vs. Red 16's - 1

White 17's jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half and never looked back as White 17's defeated Red 16's 4-1 in the final game of the night. Myah Krueger (Stillwater) kicked off the scoring for White and Lauren Zawoyski (Edina) added a short handed goal, and eventual game winner, six minutes later. A goal by Ayla Puppe (Northfield cuts the lead to one t close out the first half. Shots 12-10 in favor of Red 16's at the break.

Grace Sadura (Minnetonka) scores unassisted to regain a White two goal lead and Sydney Leonard (Mound Westonka) adds the empty netter in the final seconds.  15 second half saves for Kayla Simonson (Delano).
