Minnesota Hockey announced today the rosters of two Girls 14U select teams that will compete in the CYA Invitational taking place August 20-22 in Palatine, IL. The teams will have the opportunity to compete against many of the top Tier I teams in the country.

“Our girls have been wanting to participate in events like this for several years, and we’re really excited to provide them this opportunity,” said Girls Tier I 14U League Director Cheryl Mechelke. “Each team will get to play in four games against some of the top players and teams in the country. We’re excited to see them showcase their own individual talents as well as the strength of girls hockey in Minnesota.”

The two rosters, which were selected based on performance at the CCM High Performance Girls 14 Summer Development Camp and Girls Tier I 14U League tryouts, are available below.

The Minnesota Elite White 14U team will play the Chicago Young Americans on Friday, Belle Tire and LA Lions on Saturday, and then the Chicago Mission on Sunday. The Minnesota Elite Navy 14U team will kick off their weekend against the LA Lions before playing Little Caesars and the Chicago Young Americans on Saturday, and wrapping up with Belle Tire on Sunday.

Leading the teams behind the bench will be Girls Tier I 14U League Development Director, Jamie Plesha and Voyageurs coach Linsy Holst.

The Girls Tier I 14U League opened its regular season this week and will hold its first competition weekend on August 27-29 at Fogerty Ice Arena in Blaine, MN. For the second year in a row, the league will host a National Invitational Tournament of its own on Oct. 22-24, providing every team and player the opportunity to face many of the same teams competing in the CYA Invitational.
