Four Minnesota teams claimed titles at the 2021 USA Hockey National Championships, which were held from mid-April through early May at locations around the country.

The strength of girls’ hockey in Minnesota was on display throughout the National Championships and punctuated by teams from the Minnesota Girls’ Hockey Coaches Association (MGHCA) Premier Prep League claiming three championships. First, Premier Prep Forest won the Girls High School title, followed by Premier Prep Orange winning the Girls 16U Tier II 2A championship and Premier Prep Black earning the Girls 19U Tier II 2A crown.

In total, ten of the eleven girls’ teams representing Minnesota at USA Hockey Nationals advanced from pool play to the championship bracket and six of them earned a spot in the championship game for their classification.

The Shattuck-St. Mary’s Youth 14U Tier I team continued its dominant season and cruised to the national title by winning all of its games in the tournament by at least three goals, including a 7-2 win in the championship game.
