Minnesota Hockey announced today the selectees and alternates for the 2021 CCM High Performance 14 and 15 Summer Development Camps. The week-long camps for the top boys and girls hockey players in Minnesota will be held during June at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN.

The Girls 15 Development Camp will take place June 12-17, with the Girls 14 taking place concurrently from June 13-17. The Boys 15 Development Camp will be held June 19-24 and the Boys 14 will run from June 20-24.

The players selected for the development camps were determined based on players’ performance throughout the 2021 CCM High Performance HP 14 and 15 programs including tryouts, skill sessions and the spring festivals. A number of players were unable to participate in various phases of the HP process this year due to COVID-19 related restrictions, such as those required to quarantine prior to the 2021 USA Hockey National Championships, and the HP staff worked diligently to include them in the evaluation process.

Players at the summer camps will be exposed to a series of on-ice and off-ice development sessions, including areas such as proper weight training and stretching techniques, developing mental skills, video sessions and position specific skills. Players will also be split into teams and compete against other top players in games each day, providing opportunities for players to implement what they learn in practice.

The camp is led by current and former coaches from the Division I, Division III and high school levels. Current college players at the Division I and III levels will serve as counselors.

The Boys and Girls 14 Development Camps will each feature 120 players from across the state and serve as the final phase of the CCM High Performance Programs for that age group.

The top players from the Boys and Girls 15 Development Camps will be chosen to represent Minnesota Hockey at a national festival/camp sponsored by USA Hockey involving the best players from each of the USA Hockey districts. The national festivals/camps are used by USA Hockey to identify the top performers in each age group for possible opportunities to represent the U.S.A. at advanced levels of national and international hockey competition.
