On Hockey Day Minnesota 2021, Minnesota Hockey recognized Caden Cole, a bantam player from Duluth Amateur Hockey Association, as a finalist for the 2020-21 Minnesota Hockey Essay Contest, presented by Park Dental. 

Hanson was one of three contest finalists that were highlighted on Fox Sports North (FSN) throughout the course of Hockey Day Minnesota.  The other finalists were Lena Fenske, a 10U player from Andover Youth Hockey Association, and Hattie Hanson, an 8U player from Crookston Blue Line Hockey Club. The finalists were selected by a committee from entries submitted by boys and girls around the state on the topic of “Hockey Is Important To Me Because…”
