Minnesota District Tier 1 15 Championship Set

Semifinal and Final Games at Plymouth Ice Center will be Streamed Live by MNHockey.Tv

The Minnesota Tier 1 District playoffs for berths in the USA Hockey National Championships in April will continue this weekend with Youth 15 semifinal action at the Plymouth Ice Center in Plymouth, Minn. The Tier 1 semifinals and championship games in the Youth 15 classification have been set following the conclusion of the League playoffs this past weekend. The District champion at the Youth 15 level will advance to the National Tournament in Plymouth, Mich., April 1 – 6, 2020. The Minnesota District semifinal games will kick off Saturday at 12:15 p.m.

All three District playoff games will be streamed live by MNHockey.Tv, and will be hosted on www.minnesotahockey.org. The live streams will be free to the public and can be found here

Youth 15 – The Youth 15 semifinals will feature the top three teams from the CCM Minnesota Hockey High Performance Tier I Fall League Playoffs as well as Shattuck-St. Mary’s Prep School. The league champion Green Giants (District 10) enter the district playoffs as the top seed having won their past five games, and eight of their last nine. They will square off against the Blue Ox (Districts 11, 12, 15 & 16), who finished second in the regular season standings with a 11-7 record. The Walleye (District 3), who posted a 12-6-1 record this fall, will draw Shattuck-St. Mary’s in the other semifinal game. The Green Giants/Blue Ox matchup starts at 12:15 p.m. on Rink A. The Walleye/Shattuck game opens at 2:30 p.m. on Rink A.  The winners will meet on Sunday, Oct. 13th at 10:15 a.m.

Minnesota Hockey will also host District Championships at the Girls 16U, Youth 16U, Youth 18U and Girls 19U levels later this Fall. The Girls 16U/19U Tier I will be held at Plymouth Ice Center on October 22 and Girls 19U Tier II/Girls High School, will be held on  October 24 at the Super Rink. The Youth 16U Tier I District Championship will take place at the Super Rink on November 5.
