HP 14 & HP 15 Camps Start Saturday in St. Cloud

The 2019 CCM High Performance 14 and 15 Summer Development Camps are set to begin Saturday on the St. Cloud State University Campus in St. Cloud, MN. The week-long camps will feature the top boys and girls in Minnesota in the 2004 and 2005 birth years.

The Girls 15 Summer Camp will open the action this Saturday, June 8, with the Girls 14 beginning on Sunday, June 9. The Girls Camps will conclude on June 13. The Boys 15 Summer Camp will be held June 15-20 and the Boys 14 will run from June 16-20.

“If you’re a kid growing up in Minnesota, making it to this camp is a big deal,” said Patrick Munson, who served as a counselor last summer after leading Michigan Tech to the NCAA Tournament in 2018. “It gives you extra motivation to work hard and be a good teammate and be a good person and a good hockey player. All of the comes together and you get to be at camp and soak in a great experience.”

Players at the summer camps will be exposed to a series of on-ice and off-ice development sessions, including areas such as proper weight training and stretching techniques, developing mental skills, video sessions and position specific skills. Players will also be split into teams and compete against other top players in games each day, providing opportunities for players to implement what they learn in practice.

The camp is led by current and former coaches from the Division I, Division III and high school levels. Current college players at the Division I and III levels serve as counselors.

Rosters and team schedules for the camps are now posted online. Follow the links below to view the rosters for the appropriate camp.

The Boys and Girls 14 Summer Camps serve as the final phase of the CCM High Performance Programs for that age group.

The top players from the Boys and Girls 15 Summer Camps will be chosen to represent Minnesota Hockey at a national festival/camp sponsored by USA Hockey involving the best players from each of the USA Hockey districts. The national festivals/camps are used by USA Hockey to identify the top performers in each age group for possible opportunities to represent the U.S.A. at advanced levels of national and international hockey competition.
