Minnesota Hockey announced today the selectees and alternates for the 2019 CCM High Performance 14 and 15 Summer Camps. The week-long camps for the top boys and girls hockey players in Minnesota will be held during June at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN.

The Girls 15 Summer Camp will take place June 8-13, with the Girls 14 taking place concurrently from June 9-13. The Boys HP 15 Summer Camp will be held June 15-20 and the Boys 14 will run from June 16-20.

The players selected for the summer camps were determined based on players’ performance in the 2019 HP 14 and 15 Spring Festivals on April 26-28. A total of 120 players move onto the HP 14 camps and 102 advance to the HP 15 camps.

“In terms of the friendships they make and the overall hockey experience, this camp is like no other these kids will experience as a youth hockey player,” said Boys HP 15 Program Manager, Scott Dornfeld.

Players at the summer camps will be exposed to a series of on-ice and off-ice development sessions, including areas such as proper weight training and stretching techniques, developing mental skills, video sessions and position specific skills. Players will also be split into teams and compete against other top players in games each day, providing opportunities for players to implement what they learn in practice.

The camp is led by current and former coaches from the Division I, Division III and high school levels. Current college players at the Division I and III levels serve as counselors.

The Boys and Girls 14 Summer Camps serve as the final phase of the CCM High Performance Programs for that age group.

The top players from the Boys and Girls 15 Summer Camps will be chosen to represent Minnesota Hockey at a national festival/camp sponsored by USA Hockey involving the best players from each of the USA Hockey districts. The national festivals/camps are used by USA Hockey to identify the top performers in each age group for possible opportunities to represent the U.S.A. at advanced levels of national and international hockey competition.
